I hope the hospitals will hire a diversity manager for this process because if you do this without a decent preparation you can be sure of a frustrated staf (and clients)

500 extra security staff in hospitals
Tue 03/10/06 - The Federal Health Minister Rudy Demotte (Francophone socialist) has decided that 500 new security staff will be taken on in Belgian hospitals from the beginning of next year.
A study by the Federal Heath Service has revealed that there are some 450 reported cases of theft or aggressive behaviour in the country's hospitals every year.
Furthermore, it is believed that many cases go unreported and the real figure is much higher.
Mr Demotte feels that it is time to act and has decided to recruit extra security staff; mainly among the group of young unemployment people, who have trouble finding work due to their lack of qualifications.
Mr Demotte's spokeswoman, Sara Vandecruys, told the VRT that the 500 new jobs have come about as a result of the government's Generation Pact.
One of the aims of the Generation Pact is to get more people back into work to help pay for the aging population.
All of the 500 people to be taken on will be trained first, before they start work in the country's hospitals.
Ms Vandecruys added the Minister feels that it is imperative that both patients and visitors can feel safe in Belgian hospitals.
